SCE&G Provides Estimated Restoration Times for Counties Impacted by Irma
Thursday, September 14th, 2017
SCE&G customers in the counties most heavily impacted by Irma can now view estimated times of restoration by clicking the county name on SCE&G’s outage table: www.sceg.com/etor. In less impacted areas, SCE&G crews are currently working to wrap up any remaining weather related outages and will address any new outages as crews are available.
More than 154,000 customers were without power at the peak of the storm Monday evening. More than 140,000 of those had been restored by late Tuesday. As of 10:30 a.m. this morning fewer than 11,000 customers were still without power, with about 75 percent of those in the hardest hit areas of Charleston and Beaufort Counties.
“We’ve made a lot of progress getting our customers restored, but we still have some without electricity,” said Keller Kissam, president of retail operations for SCE&G. “We’re providing county-by-county estimates so those folks have the information they need to plan and act on. We appreciate the patience and support our customers have demonstrated as our employees in the field continue working as quickly and safely as they can to restore power to each and every home or business that has been affected. We won’t stop until that work is complete.”
Approximately 2,500 SCE&G employees and off-system crew members are assisting with storm restoration efforts.
