Mike Buxser Announces Retirement From Lowcountry Radio Group

Wrapping up an over 50 year career in radio broadcasting, Mike Buxser has retired from the Lowcountry Radio Group, owners of WLHH-104.9 The Surf, WVSC-SC 103, WOEZ-Easy 93.7, and WVSC HD 2/106.5/99.1-Pure Oldies.
Buxser was hired by former owner, Apex Broadcasting as General Manager of the stations in April 2015. The current owners purchased the stations in September 2017.
Buxser has a long history of radio broadcasting in the Lowcountry. He was formerly VP/Chief Operating Officer for the Adventure Radio Group from 1991 thru 2004.He also managed stations in Charleston and Huntington, WV, Charlotte and Statesville, NC and Wilmington, DE. He started this radio career as an announcer in Portsmouth, Ohio in 1968. Buxser is a member of the West Virginia Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Mike and his wife Carol are longtime residents of Palmetto Hall on Hilton Head Island.
