The Barbers of the Lowcountry is sponsoring the Clipper Cup Golf Tournament, an inaugural event that will raise money for Bluffton Self Help, slated for Saturday, September 22nd at the Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton. There is a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Registration and putting challenge will take place at 11 a.m.

“This is an event that has been a dream of mine for a long time,” said Brent Nelsen, owner of Barbers of the Lowcountry. “Since the community has been so good to us over the past 20 years, we want to give back. So, we’re donating a portion of the proceeds to Bluffton Self Help, a non-profit that provides a lot of good to Bluffton.”

The golf tournament format includes a four-person scramble with 18 holes. Pre-registration is strongly recommended. Registration can be made online at or in-person at the barbershop, located in Sheridan Park in Bluffton. Early registrants who sign up before August 15th will receive a tournament T-shirt.

The entry fee is $100 per player and includes green fee, cart fee and dinner by One Hot Mamas following the tournament, along with a free haircut redeemable in the barbershop.

The sponsors of the event are We Care Family Dentistry and Barbers of the Lowcountry.
