Free Music Festival Will Honor Charli Bobinchuck August 12th

Staff Report From Low Country CEO

Friday, August 10th, 2018

Since the tragic passing of Charli Bobinchuck this past summer, the community has rallied around the memory of this special girl and the light she brought to so many. This Sunday, on August 12, that memory will once again bring the community together in the spirit of remembrance and of charity for the inaugural Charli’s Musicfest.

A celebration of this remarkable young woman’s legacy, Charli’s Musicfest will raise fund for the “Charli’s Critters Fund,” a charitable fund established by Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, a 501c3 public charity. A selfless volunteer and lover of animals during her life, this fund aims to carry on her legacy of volunteerism and caring.

“Charli Bobinchuck was an inspiring young woman, who brought so much joy to those around her. And she had such a charitable soul,” said volunteer event organizer Sonie Johnson. “She always gave so freely of her time and her energy through her love of animals and her ukulele, this seemed like the perfect way to honor her memory.”

Her love of animals was second only to her love of music, and local musicians are lining up to share in the joy of honoring Charli. Live music acts performing during the event will include members of La Bodega, Soundboy, Cranford Hollow, Shakey Bones, Unicorn Meet, A Welcome Distraction, Groove Town Assault, Pretty Darn and more.

Charli’s Musicfest will be held from 1-5 p.m. this Sunday, August 12 in the parking lot of Catch 22 and LWoods on New Orleans Rd, Hilton Head Island. The event is free to the public, but please bring cash or checks for donations to Charli’s Critters Fund. For more information, visit the Facebook event and please share among your friends.
