Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce Hosts Annual State of the Schools Event

The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual State of the Schools event on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018. The event, which featured keynote speeches from Interim Beaufort County Superintendent, Dr. Herbert Berg; TCL President, Dr. Richard Gough; and USCB Chancellor, Dr. Al Panu, also brought together leadership from area public, charter, and private schools.

"What happens in our schools from elementary to higher education, impacts our community, our workforce, quality of life and the overall future of our region," says Blakely Williams, President & CEO of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce. "We created this event as a way to bridge the gap between education and our business community to help build a qualified workforce."

Following keynote presentations, attendees heard from representatives of Beaufort Academy, Bridges Preparatory School, Holy Trinity Classical Christian School, John Paul II Catholic School, Lowcountry Montessori School, and Riverview Charter School. Each representative reiterated that their facility is continuously working to raise the bar for the students of Beaufort County.

Williams continued by saying, "Today's students are tomorrow's workforce and as we all work together - our future is bright".

The State of the Schools event was presented by sponsors Lockheed Martin and Servpro of Beaufort County, with additional support from sponsors Cintas Corporation - #237, The Complete Student, The Learning Center, Park University, and Reaching Milestones.
