Thursday, January 23rd, 2020
Dominion Energy, through its charitable foundation, awarded grants to more than 200 nonprofit organizations in 13 states to help feed, house and care for people in need. Totaling $1.6 million, the grants will support essential human services. This is the fifth year the company has awarded more than $1 million to meet critical community needs. Twenty-one nonprofits in South Carolina received grants totaling $241,500.
“We are proud to support so many deserving organizations in the communities we serve across the state,” said Rodney Blevins, president of Dominion Energy South Carolina. “These grants will further the missions of these great organizations as they do the important work of assisting our neighbors in need.”
These grants will help nonprofits like Homeless No More, a local organization dedicated to keeping families facing homelessness together through providing emergency services to transitional and affordable housing.
“Homeless No More will continue to provide important opportunities such as life skill classes, field trips and mentoring programs to hundreds of at-risk and homeless children living at St. Lawrence Place and Family Shelter thanks to the generosity of Dominion Energy,” said Lila Anna Sauls, president and CEO of Homeless No More. “We’re incredibly lucky to have a partner who understands the importance of support services for our homeless families.”
