SCORE South Carolina Lowcountry Chapter Annual Awards Winners

SCORE, the nation's largest provider of free business mentoring services to aspiring entrepreneurs, small business owners and not-for-profit organizations held its annual celebration and awards ceremony at Poseidon’s Rooftop Bar (38 Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head Island, SC) on Monday, February 10th beginning at 5:30pm. The event included business mentors, clients, sponsors, and SCORE leaders.
During the event, the following awards were presented by the SC South Carolina Lowcountry Chapter:
Client Business of the Year – Art League of Hilton Head Island
Start Up Client Businesses of the Year – Pawmetto Pet Services and Appliance Solutions
Mentor of the Year – John Ferrara
These award recipients join the other SCORE client business winners from prior years in helping build a vibrant local, entrepreneurial economy. Past SCORE client business of the year include: Aunt Laurie’s, Downtown Deli, Little Fish Boatek, Hope Life, Palmetto Cabinet Studio, and StoneWorks.
Also announced was that the SC Lowcountry SCORE’s chapter, with 30 years of service to the area, received the 2019 South Carolina Chapter of the year award. This award follows the chapter’s similar recognition from 2018. The chapter is also designated as a “Platinum” Chapter from SCORE National for three consecutive years (2017-2019). The Southern Lowcountry South Carolina Association of Volunteer Administrators also recognized the Chapter as the 2019 Workplace/Agency of the Year.
Gordon Magee, SCORE South Carolina’s District Director stated at a recent event, “These deserving organizations and John Ferrara, as our recognized SCORE volunteer, represent the best in continual learning and growth. We are proud of these businesses – and of the volunteer mentors who give their time and talents to support them.”
Rod Casavant, SCORE South Carolina Lowcountry Chapter Chairman, shares “We are very appreciative of our SCORE business mentors that volunteer their time, as well all the sponsors that partner with us. We feel privileged to support and contribute to the success of many outstanding small businesses and organizations in the Lowcountry.”
